Microsoft’s mobile platform, Windows Phone, is becoming increasingly popular among developers of applications.
According to the results page study done by All About Windows Phone, Windows Phone Marketplace are now present on 40.000 applications and games, from more than 10,000 different developers. About 33% of all applications are placed there during the past 90 days.
Also note that during the last 30 days the applications are located 85%, while games were 15%. Of this figure approximately 68% of games and applications set can be downloaded without charge and for 23% of them must be paid immediately, while 9% may be paid after the free trial period.
Applications added to the Windows Phone Marketplace with speeds of approximately 165 applications per day, so it is expected that by the end of January the number of applications is expected to surpass 50,000.
Although the Microsoft platform is gaining popularity it is still very much behind the Apple App Store, which in May exceeded the figure of 500,000 applications, and Google App Store, which has over 300.000 applications.
