Microsoft wants to break Guinness record in marathon programmers
Microsoft has summoned all Windows software developers as part of an event called Windows AppFest, to be held from September 21 in Bangalore, India, a city also known as the “Silicon Valley” of that nation. The mission? Promote Windows 8 as a platform to create software, however, there is also an ulterior motive: to enter the Guinness Book of Records.
The idea, as explained in the company’s official blog , is organizing the largest marathon programming the planet, which will last for 18 continuous hours and will focus on the creation of tools specifically for the new operating system Windows 8 , next to launch this October 26, 2012.
It’s not the first time that Microsoft organizes something, because these conventions programmers everyday in the business, having performed more than 750 events in 50 different countries. However, India is special, as it seeks to break a record that many would have not happened.
